On June 20th 2007 I got my tonsils removed. Now my throat is really sore but still I cope with it. There's little white patches in my throat. The only thing that I can eat is soft stuff like, yogurt, ice cream, icy poles, jelly so there's about my menu for the day. I usually have icy poles for breakfast or porridge and lunch I have sometimes nothing but it's usually just icy poles, icy poles & icy poles. I think that's my only food that I'm going to eat for about a week. Right now I am eating a fried egg.

Staff Farewell x 7
At the year's end Barrhead Elementary waves goodbye to a large number of staff who are entering 'the next phase of their lives'. A farewell dinner was organised and nearly 200 people came to celebrate the careers of a very fine bunch of people.
'Marathon' MC Lamothe entertained the crowd for over four hours with his outstanding brand of wit and repartee. There was an open invitation for those wishing to pay homage to the retirees. It is difficult to do justice to the people and the evening. The night was a resounding success.
Barrhead is blessed with a very strong school which is full of exceptional people. I hope the town knows how lucky it has been and how lucky it is.
Most of the departees.
MC Laurin at the mike, again...
...and again.
Homage to Cam
Boss Cam leaves. Laurin gets together with Neil Young and nuts out lyrics. Will strums on Susan's very nice Fender. Laurin manages to sound even more like Neil Young than Neil Young.
THE TRAPLINE AND THE DAMAGE DONE
I found you lying on the forest floor,
Because you’d ran into the cabin door,
Cam, Cam more damage done.
You went a walkin’ on your old trapline,
You didn’t hear the wolverine behind,
Cam, Cam more damage done.
You went a cruisin in your old canoe,
They’ll find a body in a week or two,
But happily we heard it wasn’t you.
We sing this song because we love the man,
But how much punishment can he withstand?
More blood keeps on spillin’ out.
I’ve seen the trapline and the damage done,
All of that pain it can’t be too much fun,
And from the bears someday he’ll have to run.
I’ve seen the trapline and the damage done,
And every injury beneath the sun,
But he’ll keep goin ‘cause he thinks it’s fun.
Lyrics: Lamothe/Young
(which has a ring like Lennon/McCartney don't you think? - but which one would be John? which one Paul?)

Picture Essay of Canadian Claude the French Kangaroo
Photographeur: Sharing just one of several hundred Rocky Mountain photos with Will. Beaujolais for Will, Chardonnay for Claude.
Chess Masteur: pictured here falling for the old 'get distracted by Jack while George 'Boris' Johnston quietly performs another sneaky play' trick (probably a castle). Note Cafe au lait.

BBQ at Thunder Lake
Barb, John, Jennifer & Christine Strand kindly invited us to join them for a BBQ at their very impressive campsite at Thunder Lake. We were able to introduce Rossie & Claude to a few other Barrhead locals including Laurie & Clarence Assenheimer, Terry & a gang of kids. Thanks for your great company & a memorable evening!
Road Trip Day Three
Stony Plain is known as "The Town with the Painted Past"! It has 25 murals around town depicting various historical monuments and people from the towns local heritage.
We arrived just in time to see the "Farmers Festival Parade", then enjoyed a tour of the multicultural centre and lunch in the famous Homesteader's Kitchen...the beef stew was fantastic!
We arrived back in Barrhead around 4pm, unpacked & had a much needed siesta before the evening outing to the lake.
Road Trip Day Two
We all slept well western style despite George's pesky tonsils & after a quick trip to the WEM Medical Centre for antibiotics we set off for Fort Edmonton Park.
A few wrong turns, several "S" words from me and Rossie's impressive navigating got us safely to our destination. This park is an amazing way to experience some of the local history.
Road Trip
On Thursday May 31st we set sail for Edmonton to see a few sights, sadly leaving Will at home.
Our first stop was West Edmonton Mall where the boys demonstrated their skating skills, took Rossie down the "Blue Bullet" water slide at the waterpark & then we spent the night in the Western Suite at the Fantasyland Hotel.
We witnessed the filming of "Christmas Wonderland" at the mall, and even spotted Carmen Electra...no luck seeing Patrick Swayze though.
